It was Not to Be

It was not to be after all. Somehow, the M203 gunners of Pioneer Platoon were detailed to fire their M203s instead of firing demolitions. A little disappointed that I did not get to handle demolitions again, since the last time was during my active days. On hindsight, being detailed for M203 live firing proved to be a blessing in disguise as the guys who went for demolitions live firing suffered 2 blinds. Enjoyed shooting my new M203 though. Instead of the M16 previously used, we were issued with the SAR21 M203. It was good to fire the weapon after what seem like 4 years since ORD. Was blessed to witness the fire power of the Matador whose range was situated right beside the M203 range. My 40mm HEDP paled in comparison to the Matador.

A missed opportunity to fire the PLC and live demolitions was compensated with a well deserved break from work and a blind free and exciting M203 live firing. Furthermore, I got silver for my IPPT and maintained the standard! $200 dollars richer!
