The POwer of Prayer

Last weekend was a roller coaster ride once again for me. Had a customer who made a booking for a party over the previous week and communicated to me the number of party guest that will be comming for the party. The day before the party proper, she pulled a stunt. She told told me that she was going to have lesser guests! Knowing that she was a hard customer, I called OCC F&B who is our partner for birthday party catering. I asked them if they could make the last minute change for me. Was told that it was hard as the ingredients have already being bought and they have to cover their cost. The good thing was, they were willing to compromise and make a slight cut in the number of pax for the buffet. Got back to the parent and she insisted that she was not going to pay up for the extra number of pax as she has changed her party guest attendance. Was left pondering over what to do in such a circumstance. Came to the conclusion that if I could not settle the outstanding amount owed to OCC F&B, I will settle the amount out of my own pocket. Went home that day really stressful and prayed that the Lord would helped me settle the issue. So I went off to sleep and hoped to forget the incident. It was not to be...

The next morning, the very first though that came to my mind was the previous day's stressful situation. Said a short prayer again and ask God to help me settle the issue. Went about my day doing church and serving as best I could but the issue was still residing in the back of my mind.

7.25pm... was waiting for Eng Sen to finish his guitar lesson and recieved an SMS form Eileen who was helping me out as the party host that the issue has been resolved!I uttered a soft, "Thank God!" The parent was nasty when she arrived and insisted on not paying up but Eileen somehow worked her 'magic' and helped to diffused the situation. Also, it seems the attendance of ther party guest increased and she was willing to pay up for the extra food ordered. Thank God! Indeed, His word is true, that we are not to be anxious for nothing but throught prayer and supplication, make all our requests be known to God.

A painful but vivid lesson for me in the power of prayer and trusting Him no matter the severity of the situation.
