Reminisce (updates for the week)

Yahoo! I am finally Sports-climbing Level 1 certified! Had the course with 7 other of my colleagues on yesterday morning at my work place. Ivan the instructor was especially strict with me on the belaying practice as I was too anxious to get to Step 3 without first executing Step 2. Not that I am complaining. My colleagues throughly enjoyed themselves and so did I. Best of all, the company sponsored the course! Will practice and next on the line, Sports-climbing Level 2 and than Instructor Level 1!


Finally, the sharing that I had to do for youth is finally over but it feels like it has just passed. It was grueling preparing for the sharing. Since I got the duty roster for youth, my mind has dwelled on the topic that I was to share. Coupled with my busy work schedule, I had to overcome mental tiredness and crack my brains to prepare. Had to spilt the preparation into 2 nights as I was too exhausted. Both preparations stretched till 2 am. Even the sharing powerpoint which was done on Thursday night stretched till 2.30 am. Now I know how mum feels whenever she prepares her sermons! Needless to say, Pastor Emily faces double the pressure! All in all, I thank God for inspiring me through His Holy Spirit through the preparation process. The feedback I got from Eng Seng was that he felt the contents of the sharing was mature, in his own words, "adult". I told him that if we treat the youths like kids, they will become likewise. If we treat and believe that the youths can be responsible, mature adults, they will naturally become likewise. Positive feedback from Lyn too. She said in an earlier tele-conversation that she could still remember the points and that the Detoll Object Lesson left the deepest impression on her. The only improvement I needed was to be more lively in my speech and not that monotonous. I pray that all the youths of Sembawang A/G will learn to COUNT THE PRIORITY, COUNT THE COST, COUNT THE SUFFERING and COUNT THE SACRIFICE. When that happens, transformation will take place and revival will descend upon SAG!


Had a fruitful time with Jian Hui, Jun Rong, Hong Yu and Jin Min at the Woodlands Gym earlier. After that went for dinner with the guys. After Jun Rong, Hong Yu and Jin Min went home, I had a another fruitful time of deep conversation with Jian Hui at the bus-stop. The topic dealt mostly on the youth and what are our dreams for the youth ministry. After which, we adjourned to the open field in front of the Woodlands MRT Station and interceded for the youth ministry. What an experience! Praying under the moonlight! Freedom of expression and worship in Singapore!
